The METECS team has returned to Australia! Working together alongside Woodside Energy engineers, METECS and the Dexterous Robotics Team at NASA Johnson Space Center have been diving deeper into development of mobile robotic manipulation technology. Using the Valkyrie robot, METECS helped deploy software and techniques that can enable remote robotics operations, facilitate deeper collaboration with local universities, and save lives!
Collaboration with Woodside provides the context and opportunity to work on difficult problems analogous to those encountered during NASA missions. By solving these complex problems on Earth, the teams strive to improve the capabilities of space robots and ensure future mission safety and success.
