WELCOME ABOARD MINI

METECS is excited to welcome Mini Chacko to the team! Mini graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information systems from University of Houston, Clear Lake, and has 16 years of experience as a Software Engineer in developing, integrating, and testing simulation software for Shuttle, International Space Station (ISS), and Orion projects. The most recent project she worked on is Training Systems for the 21st century (TS21) for International Space Station, where she integrated models and simulation software in JSC Trick based simulation framework, implemented and integrated Binary/ASCII checkpoint with fully integrated International Space Station (ISS), Communication and Tracking Network Simulation (CTNS), and H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV) simulations with User Support Systems, created and executed automated test plans, use cases, and scripts using Jenkins to identify and uncover intermittent issues leading to schedule slippage of TS21 testing and verification.

Hurricane Harvey Response

As the Houston area slowly emerges following the destruction of Hurricane Harvey, METECS would like to express our support for those affected by the storm.  The scale of this storm means that everyone knows someone affected in some way.

We would also like to share how happy we are with the response of the Houston and JSC community during this turbulent time. Some of our employees, customers and subcontractors were significantly affected and we are very appreciative of the support of neighbors, co-workers, organizations, and the Johnson Space Center.  We look forward to working with them to help restore their working and living conditions back to normal.

WELCOME ABOARD BEN

METECS is excited to welcome Ben Vizena to the team. Ben is a recent graduate of Lamar University
where he earned undergraduate degrees in Physics and Computer Science. While at Lamar, he helped
develop software that determines air pollution levels from photographs using computer vision and
machine learning techniques. Prior to joining METECS, Ben interned at Applied Research in Acoustics
where he worked on acoustic simulation software. His spare time is spent tinkering, rock climbing, and
backpacking. Welcome Ben!
