METECS is thrilled to welcome its newest team member, William Yessen! William grew up in California, where he received a BA in mathematics from California State University, Northridge in 2007, followed by a PhD in mathematics in 2013. His PhD focused on connections between statistical physics and dynamical systems. After receiving the PhD, he won the NSF postdoctoral research fellowship to continue his research at Rice university, where he remained as a postdoc researcher for 2.5 years. He moved to oil and gas industry in 2016, where he designed and developed large scale signal processing software, exploiting his background in mathematics and computer science. After 18 months in oil and gas, he was delighted to receive an offer from METECS.

William is generally interested software design and architecture, high performance computing, performance optimization. When not busy at work, he spends time with his family, read, play music, and run/hike.

Welcome aboard William!
