CONGRATULATIONS ON THE AA2 DEMO

METECS would like to congratulate its team members on completing a successful AA2 Demo in the iPAS last week!  Ascent Abort-2 (AA2) is an upcoming test of the Orion Launch Abort System (LAS) under the highest aerodynamic loads it will experience in flight.  The test will consist of an Orion mockup and LAS launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, aboard a modified Peacekeeper missile.  The images below show screenshots of the NASA AA2 simulation that METECS contributed to showing various stages of the mission including the escape from the booster, LAS guidance, and LAS jettison.  Last week the team demonstrated the AA2 simulation running closed loop with the Flight Software and Flight Computer for the first time.  mREST was used to launch all of the processes during the demo including the EDGE graphics.  Thanks for all of the hard work that led to the success of this demo!aa2_1 aa2_2 aa2_3
